1 Idea 💭 The 5 Second Framework

Have you ever had an idea, or an urge to do something, but then never ended up taking any action?

Perhaps you got the urge to start running, or the urge to clear up your desk setup before work — normal instincts that help you move forward in your life — but you never actually took action and got started. You find excuses and procrastinate, right?

The 5 second rule is a framework that helps combat this procrastination that occurs almost immediately after you get the urge to act on your goals. Rather than simply getting ideas and not doing anything with them, this rule helps you take immediate action that furthers you!

What is the 5 second rule?

Here’s the 5 second rule (in Robbins’ own words):

“If you have an instinct to act on a goal, you must physically move within 5 seconds or your brain will kill it.”

The second you get the instinct to do something — maybe you get the instinct to write your to-do list, or…
