3 Little Wonder Bites

📖 Current Read; 366 Meditations on Wisdom, Perseverance, and the Art of Living — Ryan Holiday

No Excuses

The Daily Stoic Meditation for June 29 outlines how, in any situation, there is no room for excuses.

There is always a reason, a solution and an advancement.

Waste no time excusing yourself and move forward.

“It is possible to curb your arrogance, to overcome pleasure and pain, to rise above your ambition, and to not be angry with stupid and ungrateful people — yes, even to care for them.”

— MARCUS AURELIUS, MEDITATIONS, 8.8

Excuses

As a society, we make countless excuses.

We fail to be able to take responsibility for our actions, and so try excuse ourselves.

Excuses are a common thing, yet they are futile.

No Excuses

However, there is simply no time for excuses.

Excuses are futile, time wasting and pointless.

Nobody believes your excuses most of the time!

Waste No Time — Move Forward

Quite frankly, you don’t have the time for excuses.

You don’t have the time to be fabricating stories and lies.

You don’t have the time to be excusing yourself from your wrong doings, or trying to shift the blame.

Rather than excuses, you must work to move forward instead.

Don’t Hold Yourself Back

Making excuses is a form of holding yourself back.

Moving forward is of course, advancing.

Rather than spending time excusing yourself, work on strategies that lead to improvement.

How?

There’s many different ways to move forward, rather than prioritising excuses.

In regards to the mistake itself;

  • Apologise and forgive
  • Look to your mistakes
  • Change the strategy

Simply in general;

  • See each day as fresh
  • Focus on yourself
  • Self care
  • Do something challenging

Rather than making excuses and holding yourself back, work on advancing.

Idea of the Week. 💭

You Are Awakening To The Work Of A Human Being

A short piece that outlines how, even on bad days, you have the human responsibility to get up and work.

On The Bad Days

We all have bad days, we’re human.

There’ll no doubt be days where you want to stay in bed, under the covers, for hours.

There’ll be days where you want to avoid every social interaction possible and keep to yourself.

We all have these bad days.

What you do on the bad days, however, determines what type of person you are.

Are you the type that yields to every bad day and spends it in bed?

Or are you the type that combats bad days by discipline and work?

Remember — You Are Awakening To The Work Of A Human Being

Remember

Many people forget what true human work is.

Many people mix up the ideas of laying in bed and exerting effort, prioritising the former over the latter.

However, it would be in your best interest to remember how things truly are, and work on not letting that slip your mind.

Proper human work is not laying in bed.

Proper human work is putting in effort and making progress!

You are awakening to the work of a human being — you are prepared for this.

You Are Made For This

You are not made to spend all day in bed.

You are not made to spend hours on social medias such as tiktok or twitter.

You are not made to waste your life away!

Instead, you are made to work.

You are made to learn, grow and develop.

You are made to put effort into growing your business or your company etc.

You were put into this world to do good work! You can’t do that, to the best of your ability, from your bed.

Quote of the Week. 🗣

Tony Robbins on the utter importance of consistency.

“If we want to direct our lives, we must take control of our consistent actions. It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently.”

It is no good being exceptional every once in a while.

You need to be consistently good, day in and day out — this is when the results will show.

To end, here’s a question from me! ⚡️

How can you choose yourself before anyone else?

Sometimes, we become selfless and put the needs of others before our own.

However, this can be incredibly detrimental, and it can lead to you losing touch with yourself.

Prioritise yourself over anything and anyone.

Thanks for reading!

Until next week,

Sam. 😆
