Forgive Them Because They Don’t Know
Focusing on the Daily Stoic Meditation for July 19 — Forgive Them Because They Don’t Know, as outlined by Ryan Holiday in the bestseller 366 Meditations on Wisdom, Perseverance and the Art Of Living.
“As Plato said, every soul is deprived of truth against its will. The same holds true for justice, self-control, goodwill to others, and every similar virtue. It’s essential to constantly keep this in your mind, for it will make you more gentle to all.”
— MARCUS AURELIUS, MEDITATIONS, 7.63
Forgive Them Because They Don’t Know
Unfortunately, a lot of people are massively uneducated.
A lot of people don’t have the privilege of growing up with flowing sources of education — schools, tutors etc. Many people don’t have any access to the things that can help them grow — online courses, books, articles, college courses.
This lack of education can often lead to those individuals perhaps taking actions that may be deemed unjust, deviant, or simply wrong in certain social situations.

We must forgive them.
