The Daily Stoic Meditation for September 26 outlines that time off is for improvement.

Rather than sole leisure, time off is for studying, growing and developing.

Time Off Is For Improvement

Time off is for improvement.

Time off is for growth.

Time off is for development.

This is all achieved through work and study.

Why?

As Seneca outlines — leisure without study is death.

You need to dedicate your time to something beneficial and long-lasting.

You need to dedicate some of your time to bettering yourself!

How?

There’s a great deal of ways that you can engage in study and improvement!

Ways such as;

  • Pick up and read 20 pages of a book
  • Try a new recipe
  • Visit a monument
  • Sign up for an online course

Ways such as these, and others, encourage you to learn something new!

This is a great way to use your time.

Not Just Leisure

Time off is not just for leisure.

Leisure activities can and should be included, but they should not be the sole focus!

Time off is not just for leisure.

Time off is not just for sleeping in, relaxing and doing little to nothing.

A great deal of time off is leisure, and that should be embraced; everyone needs time to do nothing.

However, that is not the only focus.

You must dedicate some of that time to growth and development too!

Idea of the Week. 💭

You Can Face Worry

Worry Is Common

Worry is common.

Everybody worries, about the big and the small things.

It is entirely natural, despite how difficult and stressful it may be.

You Can Face It

You can face worry.

You can face distress and difficulty.

Even if the worry seems too difficult, too much or too intense — you can face it.

Quote of the Week. 🗣

Epictetus on focusing on what you can control.

“Make the best use of what is in your power, and take the rest as it happens.”

To end, here’s a question from me! ⚡️

How can you focus on self growth and improvement?

Thanks for reading!

Until next week,

Sam. 😆
