Protect The Flame
Focusing on the Daily Stoic Meditation for July 4 — Protect The Flame, as outlined by Ryan Holiday in the bestseller 366 Meditations on Wisdom, Perseverance and the Art Of Living.
“Protect your own good in all that you do, and as concerns everything else take what is given as far as you can make reasoned use of it. If you don’t, you’ll be unlucky, prone to failure, hindered and stymied.”

Protect Your Flame
Two Flames
Everyone has two flames; the flame of goodness and the flame of desire.
The flame of goodness; the good within everyone.
The flame of desire; the burning passion that motivates people to work hard and achieve their goals.
The Flame of Good
The goodness within you is like a small flame, and it is your job to protect it.
Everyone has this small light inside of them — the urge to be good and to do good things for others.
This is the flame that encourages you to help people out or give compliments to your friend — it’s the flame that constitutes the stoic duty of being good.
