When Good Men Do Nothing

Focusing on the Daily Stoic Meditation for July 26 — When Good Men Do Nothing… as outlined by Ryan Holiday in the bestseller 366 Meditations on Wisdom, Perseverance and the Art Of Living.

“Often injustice lies in what you aren’t doing, not only in what you are doing.”

— MARCUS AURELIUS, MEDITATIONS, 9.5

Inaction.

Inaction is a lack of action in a situation in which it’s necessary.

In other words; inaction is not taking any steps forward to meet your goals and become the best version of yourself. Inaction is the opposite of progress and can hold you back greatly!

Inaction is just as bad as misdirected action.

The risks of inaction.

There’s great risks of inaction that many are aware about, yet choose to ignore;

  • Stagnancy
  • Losing friends
  • Being fired
  • Bad exam results
  • Falling into a rut
  • Lack of progress

The greatest risk of inaction is lack of progress, resulting in stagnancy.
